On October 14, 2023, the 14th National Conference on Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Allergy and the Conference on Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Chronic Airway Diseases concluded successfully in the beautiful coastal city of Qingdao.  Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) is a common clinical fungal disease in which fungi are sucked into the bronchial area, forming hyphae that can induce cellular immunity (Th2CD4+) and humoral makeup free (lgE, lgG antibodies) to produce an immune response, thereby promoting tissue damage and leading to a series of pathological symptoms such as pus, fever, and chest pain.
The diagnosis of ABPA should be based on corresponding clinical features, imaging findings, and serological examination results, mainly including (1) a history of asthma or chronic cough and asthma; (2) The total serum lgE increases, usually>1000U/ml; (3) Elevated serum Aspergillus SLgE or positive skin test for Aspergillus rapid response; (4) Elevated serum Aspergillus slgG; (5) Chest imaging examination showed bronchiectasis. Other clinical features or auxiliary examinations that can aid in diagnosis include increased eosinophils in the peripheral blood of cough mucus clots, patchy migratory shadows and/or mucus impaction signs on chest imaging, and positive sputum culture for Aspergillus.
